Our Mission
The Sodality of Our Lady Queen of Peace is a women’s caring, joy filled Catholic organization of faith, centered on Christ and committed to working together toward the growth and vitality of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish. We, the ladies of the Sodality, assist the church in serving the community, its parishioners’ and our beloved Pastor. The Sodality leads others to Christ through devotion to the Blessed Mother Our Monthly Meetings
Our monthly meetings are held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Middle River Maryland and are open to all Sodality members. The regularly scheduled Meeting is held the second/third Sunday of every month at 12:30 p.m. where we gather to pray and conduct business. Our meetings are held September - May. (We do not meet during the summer months June – August.) We open our meetings by praying a decade of The Rosary and Act of Consecration to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. After our meetings we have light refreshments and socialize with our sisters-in-faith. |
We are a Catholic Organization
Our Sodality serves Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, its parishioners and the local community. Our members volunteer and serve OLQP on the Parish Pastoral Council, Hospitality, Pro-Life and Senior Groups, the Altar Guild and Parish Finance Committee. Some dedicate themselves as Religious Education Teachers. Other women serve as Lectors or Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist, while others volunteer in the Parish Office. We welcome ladies from other parishes to join us!! We have fundraisers that provide financial assistance to the parish, by conducting bake and cookie sales, raffling baskets for special events, and a tea fundraiser. We have a Prayer Shawl Ministry where we donate hand-crafted prayer shawls to the sick and homebound. When a Sodality sister is called home to God, we support the family and pray the Rosary for our departed Sodality Sister and her family. We gather in May to attend Mass at our May celebration and New Member Installation. |

We are a Service Organization
Our Sodality is involved in many charitable activities throughout the year and we donate food and items to those in need. For example, we collect items for the active duty Military troops overseas; food for Eastern Interfaith Food Pantry; and, at Christmas we sponsor a charity and typically provide a donation to local needy children. Once a year we hold a baby shower sponsoring local Pregnancy Centers and donate needed baby items to moms and babies. |
How Can I Join the Sodality of OLQP??
