Religious Education
"The Church has always considered Catechesis one of her primary tasks, for, before Christ ascended to His Father after His resurrection, He gave the apostles a final command - to make disciples of all nations and to teach them to observe all that He had commanded...
At the heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, "the only Son form the Father...full of grace and truth," who suffered and died for us and who now, after rising, is living with us forever. It is Jesus who is "the way, and the truth, and the life," and Christian living consists in following Christ."
Pope John Paul II

Religious Education Classes:
Religious Education classes are held for children age Kindergarten to 8th grade on Sunday mornings from 10-11am at Our Lady Queen of Peace.
To register your child, please complete the registration form and return it to the parish office.

Sacramental Prep Classes:
First Reconciliation and First Eucharist – These sacraments are normally celebrated for children in 2nd grade. In order to receive these sacraments, children must be enrolled in the religious education program for at least one year prior to the year of preparation.
Confirmation – This sacrament is celebrated in the 8th grade. Candidates must be baptized, have already received first Eucharist and Reconciliation, and be enrolled in the Religious Education program at least one year prior to beginning the preparation program in 8th grade.
Children’s Ministry:
We meet at the Sunday, 9am Mass, during the Liturgy of the Word. Our Sessions begin in October and end in May. This is a supplemental program, not a replacement for Religious Education. We minister to children of various ages in a way that they can understand the Gospel message. We present a craft project with the message for them to have hands on, visual and concrete image of the message which they can take home to reflect on and evangelize others. This is to help open and cultivate readiness of the heart to hear the Lord’s word.
